eNlight 360°

About the project

eNlight 360° is a cloud management platform designed to empower organizations with seamless monitoring, cost optimization, and resource management capabilities. As the lead product designer, I crafted user-centric interfaces that simplify complex cloud operations, ensuring intuitive navigation and actionable insights. The design focuses on delivering an efficient and visually compelling experience, balancing technical depth with accessibility for diverse user roles. Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and iterative usability testing were integral to achieving a polished and inclusive design.

Goals and Objectives

Goal: The primary goal was to redesign the existing eNlight 360° platform into a modern, intuitive, and user-friendly solution that simplifies navigation, enhances usability, and aligns with contemporary design standards.
Objective: he objective was to simplify complex workflows, modernize the interface with a responsive and professional design, and ensure accessibility by adhering to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Additionally, it involves gathering user insights, validating the redesign through iterative testing, and enhancing user engagement to reduce drop-offs and improve satisfaction.

My Role

I led the end-to-end redesign of the eNlight 360° platform, working alongside my design teammates to execute a user-centered transformation. We identified user pain points and needs, created personas, and defined the product’s value proposition to highlight its unique strengths. We introduced a fresh visual identity, aligning the UI color scheme with the brand, and designed user journeys, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. We conducted weekly sessions with stakeholders and the development team to present concepts, address challenges, gather feedback, and iterate. Additionally, I guided the design team, reviewed their work, resolved product and design-related challenges, and ensured the seamless handoff of final designs to developers via Zeplin, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.

Challenges

Challenge 1: Complex Customization Process

Challenge: The old customization process involved multiple steps and nested menus, leading to confusion and poor user experience.
Solution: A new “drag-and-drop widget” feature was introduced on the dashboard, enabling users to easily add or remove widgets, streamlining the customization process and improving overall usability.

Challenge 2: User drop-off after Login (Drop off rate 28%)

Challenge: Often, we encountered that few of our user got irritated when the change password screen was forcefully prompted while login after expiry period of password. We encountered this through the qualitative data we got from telemetry tool integrated in our system.
Solution: Advance notification of password expiry was implemented, providing a grace period to change the password at a convenient time. Additionally, consider mentioning if exploring risk-based authentication is part of the future scope.
Future: Implementing risk-based authentication that prompts password changes based on the user’s behavior and risk profile.

Challenge 3: Transitioning to SPA

Challenge: Original module-based structure required each module to open in a different browser tab, leading to a disjointed user experience. User required to navigate manually to the previously opened module tab in browser to access new modules.
Solution: Transitioned to a Single Page Application (SPA) structure, allowing all modules to be accessible within a single interface. This streamlined navigation and improved the overall user experience by maintaining context and reducing cognitive load.

Impact

Improve user experience increased the user satisfaction rate by 30%, performance by 27% and had overall business impact of +20%.
